Portrait and candid photography is all about people and its such a satisfying experience for me. I like to look for that perfect expression, emotion and essence. Its great to break out of the mold and take striking photographs by breaking the rules or at least bending them and adding some randomness to my photos. Sometimes the most beautiful shots are those where the subject is not looking into the lens or they are unaware when I am taking the photograph. Experimenting with lighting and taking a series of shots can work well too. Taking a picture of someone is easy, but taking a portrait of who they are is truly magical.
